    Rhinoplasty – What it is

    Ρινοπλαστική – Τι είναι

Rhinoplasty can significantly transform your psychology and self-confidence, offering you a new appearance with a natural-looking nose that is balanced and harmonious with your facial features. If the nose is the only disproportionate element of your face, rhinoplasty can give the impression that your entire face has changed.

Its purpose is to improve appearance and, in some cases, correct impaired breathing function through a simultaneous procedure on the nasal septum (septoplasty).

Rhinoplasty is one of the most technically demanding procedures, where the experience and skill of the surgeon are essential for achieving the best result. When there is a functional issue with the septum, the procedure is performed in collaboration with an ENT surgeon, who first corrects the septum, followed by the aesthetic reconstruction.

Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti applies the closed technique, meaning that the procedure is performed through the nostrils rather than through an incision at the base of the nose. This is a more demanding technique, as it requires in-depth knowledge of nasal anatomy, extensive experience, and a refined sense of surgical precision. In addition to avoiding an external incision between the nostrils, the closed technique offers a significantly faster recovery compared to the open approach.

    How rhinoplasty is performed

During the procedure, the bone and cartilage of the nose are reshaped, correcting all deformities. It is performed through the nostrils, leaving no visible scars. After the surgery, there is no pain, but the nostrils remain closed with nasal packing for 48 hours.

    Ρινοπλαστική

Duration of the procedure: 30 minutes – 1 hour

    Anesthesia: general

    Hospital stay: 24 hours

It takes approximately one week for the removal of the nasal splint that is placed to support the nasal structure in its new position.

About one week is also required for a full return to daily activities without any visible signs.

    Age indications:

Rhinoplasty can be performed after the completion of physical development, typically around the age of 18. After the age of 40, results may be less optimal, as the skin becomes less elastic over time and may not fully adapt to the new nasal structure.
