Moles – Cysts – What they are – Treatment

Moles and cysts on the face or body, for various reasons, should be removed.
Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti has extensive experience and the necessary equipment for the safe removal of moles and sebaceous cysts on the face and body, with minimal scarring.
Moles
Moles, commonly known as “beauty marks,” are benign pigmented skin lesions. Almost everyone has moles, and some individuals have many. Moles can be flat or raised, with well-defined borders, and their color can vary.
Moles are safely examined by a dermatologist, who performs dermoscopy and mapping to ensure early detection.
If there are reasons to remove a mole to prevent its transformation into a malignant tumor, the patient is referred to a plastic surgeon for removal and biopsy.
Sebaceous cysts
A sebaceous cyst forms due to the blockage of a sebaceous gland, preventing sebum (a substance that lubricates the skin) from being naturally expelled. As a result, it accumulates under the skin, forming a cyst. The cyst is soft, palpable, and benign, and can develop anywhere on the body or face. If it becomes infected, inflammation occurs, making the cyst red, painful, and warm.
If the cyst is not surgically removed in a timely manner, it will continue to grow. If there is inflammation, it must first be treated with appropriate medication; otherwise, drainage of the cyst may be required to release pus.

Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti has extensive experience in cyst removal, achieving excellent aesthetic results. The procedure is performed in the clinic under local anesthesia and lasts approximately 15–30 minutes.
