Thread lift – What it is

The application of threads has limited indications. With extensive experience in this field, the plastic surgeon applies threads only in individuals aged 40–50 with mild facial laxity who do not wish to undergo a lifting procedure but seek improvement of the facial contour.
She notes that lifting the skin alone is not sufficient to elevate the underlying muscles, nor can it maintain the result for more than two years.
There are two types of thread applications:
Simple threads that are placed under the skin and lift it upward.
Threads in a mesh form that are placed beneath the skin in individuals with a thin face, in order to internally fill the underlying structure and provide volume.
