Fraxel for the face and neck

Fraxel creates thousands of microthermal treatment zones that penetrate deep into the skin. Each microthermal zone, through its “fractional” action, forces old cells to be eliminated. The skin regenerates naturally by producing collagen and new, healthier tissue.

The treatment is performed with local anesthesia and lasts from 10 minutes to 1 hour. Return to daily activities is immediate, although visible recovery may take a few days, during which makeup coverage may be needed.

After the treatment, the skin of the neck may develop a pink tone (due to therapeutic stimulation) that lasts for 5–7 days, similar to a mild sunburn. There may also be slight swelling, which subsides completely within 2–3 days.

In the following days, the skin takes on a bronze tone and gradually peels as new skin replaces the dead tissue. There is no pain, and the peeling can be managed with the use of cosmetics and sunscreen.

After the treatment, regeneration begins within 24 hours, and the results progressively improve, reaching their peak within 2 to 3 months.

With the Fraxel laser (not Fractional, which is an older technology), available at the clinic of Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti, tissue regeneration is achieved from within, specifically from the basal layer of the skin. It activates this layer and stimulates it to “awaken” and produce collagen, while the outer layer of the skin is not burned, only showing mild redness that quickly subsides. Collagen production tightens lax areas of the delicate neck skin and smooths out wrinkles.
